Christina Asks Friends to Contact SenatorsChristina Fu June 16, 2003 Dear Friends and Colleagues, Thank you for all your hard work and continuing support. We together have done a marvelous lobbying work. Last week, the H.Res.199 passed in the House International Relations Committee, and we expect it to pass the whole House soon. Your letters and calls to your Representatives really made a big difference. Many Congressmen signed up only after they received requests from their constituents. A total of 54 members of Congress cosponsored this legislation, which I heard is rare for a bill regarding one person. I very grateful for your help. Our next step is to lobby the U.S. Senate for a companion bill. Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Conference, has graciously agreed to be the lead Republican co-sponsor for a Senate resolution and we need to 1) find a lead Democratic co-sponsor and 2) win support from as many Senators as possible. Could you please help again by calling AND writing to your two Senators and urge them to introduce companion legislation to H.Res.199 in the Senate or be a co-sponsor?
